Heritage Park Access - Access Cards and the Sir Lowry’s Pass - TopicsExpress

Heritage Park Access - Access Cards and the Sir Lowry’s Pass Gate Mr Weyers sent out a letter on Monday this week but in case you have not seen it, please make sure to read below. It has been brought to my attention that some parents had issues with access during the course of last week. I have spoken to and visited Heritage Park’s Estate Manager regarding the issue. He assured me that only parents that abused the system, as mentioned in a letter to all parents on the 10th January 2014, had their cards cancelled. No additional cards have been cancelled in the interim. Issues with individual cards could be due to cards left in the sun/hot car or not making contact with the sensor properly. He did mention possible future developments related to access for all people into Heritage Park. A new bi-law states that any property that lies beyond a railway line, with an unguarded level crossing and has alternative access, must close. Due to the building of the underpass, such a bi-law will probably soon be enforced, hence the closing of the gate to ‘Visitors’ from the 2nd of January. New parents have been issued with a card that only allows access from the N2 entrance into Heritage Park. There is a meeting on Thursday evening where this issue will be discussed and I will feed back any relevant information to parents. Please be aware that the school does not issue or cancel cards and if there are any problems or concerns regarding access it should be raised with the Estate Manager. (His contact details were made available in the January 10th letter) Please also bear in mind that the security personnel at the gates are simply following orders and should be treated with the respect they deserve. If they were working at your private residence and you ordered them to only allow access to certain people and they used their own initiative I am sure they would no longer be in your employ. Thank you for your cooperation. Mr Henk Weyers
