Hermann Hauser Guitar Foundation The purpose of the Hermann Hauser Guitar Foundation, a Munich-based, nonprofit foundation under civil law, is sponsoring and supporting science and culture in the field of guitar and lute music. The foundation is internationally active and its goal is to stimulate new developments and innovative models for advancement in the international world of guitar. The foundation helps to establish new compositions and methods of conveying art in the context of developments in modern musical culture; it promotes new compositions and supports artists by offering networking and production opportunities. | The foundation was founded in 2005 by Munich-based entrepreneur Klaus Wolfgang Wildner in collaboration with master luthier Hermann Hauser III. The foundations name goes back to Munich-based luthier Hermann Hauser I (1882-1952) who built one of the most famous classical guitars for Spanish guitarist legend Andrés Segovia in 1937. This Hermann Hauser guitar from 1937 is part of the permanently displayed collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
