Hermida gets the bronze medal in the CX Spanish Championships After a break of two years without training CX, the Multivan-Merida rider has returned to competing in this discipline. José was going to attend 3 races without scheduling the Nationals, but he finally decided to travel to Gijón to take part in them. I have lengthened the CX season, but Im glad I did it. I am very happy meet riders and friends from this world again. I feel very loved, explained José after the race. Regarding the result, José was 3rd, taking a bronze medal and making a very positive assessment out of this season: I was around 40th spot in the starting grid and I knew I had to make it to the leading group as soon as possible. I wanted to be fighting for the victory, but Aitor has given us no choice. He was gone right from the start and when I reached the top 5 there was already a one minute gap. He was very strong. The two-time CX Spanish Champion notes that the course was better for my conditions on Friday. It was wet but with traction, but after overnight rains today it was too muddy. Too much running!. José highlights how positive these two months of training have been for his shape. I have felt very good, fit, and these racing goals have helped focus in training. I have felt the explosiveness and strength right from the beginning. After this race, the man from Puigcerdà is from now focused on the training ahead of the 2015 MTB season, starting on February the 8th a training camp with the whole team in Mallorca.
