Heroes are not always war heroes. Many live right among us. Here - TopicsExpress

Heroes are not always war heroes. Many live right among us. Here I present three heroes of note, but there are many more. Hints: Bombay, Washington March, current Nobel Peace Prize The Other Heroes Ran up the hill and then planted a flag. Years have gone by and the fact lives to brag. Valor that cultivates fields of death. Thousands have struggled and breathed their last breath. But what of a woman determined and strong Who found the starvation and poverty wrong. She lived without fear amongst poor and the weak And found all the love and the peace that we seek. Then there was this man; a preacher that dreamed That human equality could be redeemed. His work was to free all those people enslaved. His life was so worthy but could not be saved. A girl now finds that to learn is a need. She helps other girls to write and to read. She opens her mouth and it opens our eyes. At least she was recently given a prize. But these three examples have not fought a war. They fought for the world. Should not our hearts soar? The heroes we need will be spending their time To stop the destruction thats facing mankind. The hill has been taken. The flag has been placed. But can all the wrongs with a war be erased? The heroes we need are the heroes that fight To change what is wrong in this world to right. CA Roberts 13.10.14
