It all started five years back, when Salman Khan introduced the actress to Arjun, and that’s when Kats tied him a rakhi. However, the rakhi tradition wasn’t religiously followed by Katrina. In recent interviews, Arjun was quoted as saying that Katrina always threatens to be his rakhi sister, but I completely deny that… she apparently pressurizes him to get rakhi tied. “She made me do it once, literally, at gunpoint,” he said. At a bash thrown by Arjun Kapoor, a few years ago, which was also attended by Katrina, it was pretty evident that the duo’s relation is going strong. Bipasha Basu and John Abraham’s make up man For over four years, Bong babe Bipasha Basu tied rakhi to exbeau John Abraham’s makeup man, Venky. Bips revealed that though she doesn’t have a brother of her own, she has quite a lot of cousins. But since they all live far away, she could never feel like a true sister on Raksha Bandhan. The only person she tie Rakhi to is Venky, John’s makeup man, every year for the last four years. “He’s my only brother at the moment,” she said. Well, now that the couple are no more together, we are not very sure if this bond is still continuing. Gauri Khan and Sajid Khan There was a time in 2012, when Shahrukh Khan was steadily losing his friends and supporters in the industry, including Arjun Rampal and Karan Johar. Amidst all this, he managed to have won back at least one of his close friends – Farah Khan, all thanks to Sajid Khan who played a key role in bringing together the two estranged friend. Sajid revealed that SRK’s wife Gauri Khan is his rakhi sister, and that they are all one family. Gauri apparently ties Sajid rakhi, and calls him her brother. Kareena Kapoor and Karan Johar There is a lot more to Kareena-Karan’s friendship. Bebo, who sometimes miss having a brother, considers KJO her rakhi bro. She had once said that Karan isn’t like her brother, but is her brother. On the other hand, Karan says he loves to have a younger sister like Bebo. “She is mad, spontaneous, impulsive, honest and makes me laugh. I don’t like normal people who don’t have a sense of humour and who are not stupid and funny, the way Bebo is.” According to the filmmaker, Bebo makes a perfect younger sister, just like how he always wanted one to be. Shilpa Shetty and Akshay Kumar’s best friend Shilpa Shetty doesn’t really miss having a brother in her life, as she considers her baby sister Shamita a tomboy. However, she does have a rakhi bro too. And guess who he is? Well the rakhi bro is none other than her ex beau Akshay Kumar’s best friend Ajay Virmani. The actress revealed that for many years now she has made Ajay Virmani her rakhi brother. And though her equation with those around him has changed, she continues to religiously send him a rakhi every year. Hopefully, this year should not be any different.
