Hero’s My idea of a hero has changed over the years. It used to be Superman, Batman, and Spiderman. Later in life it changed to John Wayne, Ronald Reagan, and Nolan Ryan. I think it has changed again. As I get older, read more history, and get more skeptical about the spin on things my hero idea has changed yet again. My definition of a hero is the father down the street teaching his son or daughter to ride a bike, the framer working on the farm raising crops to feed us, the fire or policeman/woman helping people thru some bad times. Yep my idea has changed. My definition of a hero is a person helping others with no motivation for fortune or fame. There are many heroes in my life, ordinary people that life just presents them the opportunity to help others. Frank the farmer, Ken the engineer, Bob the carpenter, to name a few. All these people have shaped or assisted me along the road of life. None had PhD’s in anything but life. I hope I can live up to the standards these heroes have set before me. Maybe I will be a hero also. But then again I may be one already, I could be Batman, remember you have never seen him and myself at the same time.
