Hersoms Scientific Journal wishes to share this with you: Two friends of mine - habitual drinkers of the Jack Daniels brand - made a almost-authorised, close-to-scientific blind tasting of three JD bottles this evening. As both are highly recognisable public figures, their names shall remain unmentioned. However, one shall be known as Mullet and the other one Mermaid.... Secret JD whisky no. 1: - Mullet: Smells and tastes like the consistently best Tennessee sour mash whisky in the world. Means it must be JD no. 7. - Mermaid: Agree. Secret JD whisky no. 2: - Mullet: Syrupy sweet girlie stuff. Too much sugar on your tongue. Too much like Southern Comfort. - Mermaid: Must remember to pour on French Toast. Once my daughters turn 18. Secret JD whisky no. 3: - Mullet: First thought: definitely JD, but tasted like it had been watered down. Second and third taste: Too little of that wonderful wooden taste that you get in no. 7. - Mermaid: For someone who is not into strong/full flavours in whiskies, this would be your perfect introduction. Revelation: - Secret JD whisky no. 1 was: Jack Daniels no. 7 - Secret JD whisky no. 2 was: Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey whisky - Secret JD whisky no. 3 was: Gentleman Jack.
