Hes a fixture in the gym, tries hard, eats right, but cant dig out - TopicsExpress

Hes a fixture in the gym, tries hard, eats right, but cant dig out of the plateau hes stuck in. His numbers havent gone up in months, his times arent getting faster, and people he used to beat even on bad days are nipping at his heels. He asks for help from his coach but doesnt like her suggestions to focus on mobility to increase the cycle time of his squats, or dedicate himself to technique drills to snatch heavier. He tries to outwork his weaknesses, figuring the only thing lacking is effort. It beats him up, it doesnt work, and he lay in bed at night wishing it would all get better. Much to her surprise, he agrees when his coach tells him to take a month off from the intensity, to focus only on the basics-no heavy barbells, no chasing the clock, no PR attempts. Five days a week, hes in the corner of the gym working with a PVC pipe, some resistance bands, and a lacrosse ball... We know how the story ends because we all instinctually understand the importance of mastering the fundamentals, of doing the hard work of foundation building. We all know that working smarter often trumps working harder. Here at Again Faster Equipment, we know that because for a year now weve been that athlete. After seven years of hard work and late nights, we had to admit wed hit a plateau. We were trying to outwork our weaknesses instead of addressing them. We hoped the things we were good at would prove to be good enough, but when it became clear they werent, we swallowed our pride and took our two steps back. We knew we needed a stronger foundation, so we built a product development team to design, source, prototype, test, manufacture, inspect, package, and warehouse nearly every piece of equipment we sell. If we want to be sure it meets the standards of those who trust us, we need to own the process from the drawing board to the front door. Thats what were doing now. Its been a challenging year, and a long one, but finally sharing with you the results of those efforts comes with all the tattered satisfaction of a well-earned PR. Were not done getting better or pursuing our evolution, but we are ready to start moving forward again. Thank you for coming along for the ride in 2014. As for 2015, our friend Dmitry Klokov perhaps says it best: Lets win together. Well see you out there.
