Hes not the one from Wishbone Ash, but the other Glen Turner is no less a fine guitarist. 42 years ago today, I spent a couple of hours teaching Glen the Nashville Teens’ live set – pretty basic stuff that he absorbed effortlessly enough to take on the road the following day. Glen was available because his current band Tundra - formed with ex-Grease Band keyboardist Chris Stainton - was on hold while Stainton completed a tour with Joe Cocker. Glen’s energetic presence motivated me into introducing some more contemporary material into the Nashville’s rather stale set and he was fun to play with, occasionally duetting with his close friend Brian Holloway - also temporarily inactive whilst his nine piece band, Esperanto, settled on a stable line-up. Glen’s most recent work has been with True Blues, in which he swapped licks with Climax Chicago founder member, Pete Haycock. Unfortunately, I can’t find any notable Youtube links featuring Glen, but just the mention of Pete Haycock, who sadly died last year from a heart attack, gives me the excuse to put up this link, which shows what an underrated guitarist Climax Chicago had hidden in their ranks. https://youtube/watch?v=oK9a-yMluag
