Hes the Mouth of the Mississippi. Jerry Clower, the Country Clown of Comedy (I made that part up) was born on September 28, 1926. Following 2 years in the Navy, he became a fertilize salesman and a seed salesman. Yes, a seed salesman. A SEED SALESMAN. A man like this is destined for greatness, and he did indeed, achieve greatness in the comedy world! Clower began to be known for his story telling, and before long, tapes of his speaking engagements wound up in the right hands. I his career, Clower made 27 full length recordings (I believe these would be albums). His stories are homespun yarns about growing up poor, school, and living through the depression, as well as about friends and relatives. If youve never heard Clower, you are in for a treat.
