Hes the most famous and celebrated film critic of all time and he definitely had an influence on me. He is the only film critic to win the Pulitzer prize but his style of writing was always better than his opinions which were wildly inconsistent. He gave thumbs down to The Untouchables, Die Hard and The Big Chill and gave thumbs up to films that have been long forgotten. However, no one made you feel the impact of a film with just words like he did. His writing was like a vacuum and you were always drawn in quickly to his play on words.
