Hey Acer and Acer Users. I am, like all of you guys, an Acer customer. Now usually when you buy a laptop from a huge brand name such as Acer you are expecting something HUGE. Specially when you see their ads and posts, boasting incredible design and features. But, when they boast about all that, do you know what they miss? they don’t discuss warranty, performance or quality. design, colour, buttons and , “SWEET”on every review. that’s what they do. This is a very, very painful story of how I spent so much money on trying to use my Acer laptop like my old HP. (which, I must say, was old, yet incredible. Milk, juice , falls, charger burns and it never let me down until the very very end) I have an Acer Aspire laptop, barely used, I paid $480 at the time of purchase. First 6 months it rotted in the box. Then when I finally started using it issues came out. MANY ISSUES . Let’s begin. So, a computer with 2.2GHz processing power goes slow and suddenly stops turning on. I get Windows installed 3 TIMES and I don’t even remember the problems now. Then one day im using it after 2 months in hope that the junko would OVERHEAT LESS. To my GREATEST shock. I put in the charger and BAM. My computer goes dead black. Worried sick, I eat my friend’s head at 1 AM in the night and he was constantly checking the internet in hope that he could help me in any way. After taking out the battery and all, there was literally no result. Since we have no special customer service centers here I sent this to a Cath Lab with engineers. They said that this will now be used only on charger power. But little did they know that even this didn’t do. My computer was dead again. I then sent it to some other Laptop company’s service center and after begging them to attend Acer and paying them $80 , I got 2 new USB ports and 1 port deactivated. And much more else besides. Even then, right now. 2 USB ports came in my hand. Now this will go back to some service center with more $ to no avail. My point here is that no one is FILTHY RICH. Some of us have only a few shots at getting something good for themselves. And this is the case with me. I can’t afford another laptop so im stuck in this agony. When I contacted customers I got a reply after 4 months of unlimited letter sending. They literally scolded me and said they can’t do anything now that you have ‘modified’ our product. I was like WOW. After telling them I need help and gimme help they say this. My point is that if you want to ruin your life, there is always Acer. Im not the type of person who gets angry at little things but I need help here! NEVER GET AN ACER. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER MERCY …. Areeba Naveed, Islamabad, Pakistan
