Hey Avenue Church, If you were at church today then you - TopicsExpress

Hey Avenue Church, If you were at church today then you already heard, but I wanted to share here since there were not many there this morning. I resigned today as your pastor. Next Sunday October 12th will be my last Sunday. It will be a send off and celebration day. I would love to see everyone, say thank you, and encourage one another, and just huge your neck. How we came to this decision is fairly simple. First of all, many people are not engaged in the mission at this time, and have not made Gods church their priority, and therefore it is the lack of commitment to the local church or at least The Avenue. This also brings a lack of commitment in giving which enables ministry to happen or not happen. The simple answer is that there is not enough money for salaries at this time so there was not much of a choice. Second, my decision to step down is because I feel I have challenged as much as I can and have done everything I can do to desire to see each individual own it like God wants us to. I dont see that coming to pass which begins to kill my passion to keep trying. I want to be so passionate like I once was. I want to serve God with all my heart so I will be looking for a place to team up with to continue fighting this fight for peoples lives. I also want to narrow my focus on fewer things that I can contribute with excellence, and do my part well. My encouragement to each person is to not forget why we are truely alive and that Gods church and ministering to one another has to be a priority. We are all called to action and to be a part of the body. No one is called to be in the game halfway or whenever there is left over time, money and energy. He is the number one priority and our family must model this, not just for what we can get out of it or when we need it, but for who and what we can give to it to help others. It is THE mission of life as a follower of Christ. Please think about how and where you can engage and give your life to it. Find somewhere you can give your life in the local church and make the sacrifice. We were looking at closing the doors as we came to a decision. However, Jordan would like to down scale and rebuild something sustainable for this community as what we have built is just not sustainable like we thought it would be. Jordan will be following this note up with their passion for next steps. I want you guys to realize how important it is that we build our communities through the local church so that people can know and find hope in Christ. I truely love what God has allowed us to witness and be a part of, but now the time has come for me to move on to the next journey of serving God! Please make plans to come this Sunday, October 12, as we say goodbye and celebrate the wins!
