Hey CHUSY! The past few days, I was lucky enough to be a part of the USY delegation at the AIPAC policy conference in Washington D.C. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I learned a lot and heard some great speakers. In that spirit, I would like to give you guys an update on what has happened in Israel the past few days. On Wednesday, the Israeli Navy captured an Iranian ship off the coast of Sudan carrying advanced missile systems headed towards the Gaza Strip. Israel worked with American intelligence organizations in tracking the package from Damascus, Syria, to the port it was shipped from in Iran, all the way to Red Sea where the ship was captured. The systems captured could have easily reached Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and killed hundreds of Israeli civilians. This was a great accomplishment and proves Israel can and must defend itself when in danger. Now, on a much cooler note, at AIPAC, we had a session where we talked about amazing innovations in Israeli technology. The most amazing advance was glasses for the visually impaired. These glasses enable those who cannot see very well to know what they are looking at and holding. It recognizes writing and reads it aloud to the wearer. Orcam, the company making the glasses has helped thousands of people and allowed them to live a much easier life. If you want to learn more, visit these websites and watch this amazing video.
