Hey Charlie! What the hell is a Catamount?!? The cougar... yes folks its a cougar, kinda thought it would be something a little more exciting however there is a lot to say here. The Cougar otherwise known as (depending on where youre from) the mountain lion, puma, panther, painter, mountain cat, or wait for it.... Catamount, is a large felid or a mammal of the cat family, which is of the subfamily felinae native to these here parts. They are found all the way up there in the Canadian Yukon fishing for Salmon the other pink meat, all the way down to South America where they do the cha-cha and drink Tequila. The Catamount is found just about everywhere in this here great land of ours even in Florida and Alabama. What you might not know is the Catamount or Cougar is the second heaviest cat in the New World, after the Jaguar and Im not talking about the car. These cats are primarily night time hunters although according to my Uncle, they do like to frequent back porches in the early morning in Colorado. Just remember the next time you look at your adorable loving average house cat you have as a pet, keep in mind one of his or hers closest relative is the majestic and wonderful Cougar or Catamount.
