Hey Cox Communications, your customer service sucks! Five years - TopicsExpress

Hey Cox Communications, your customer service sucks! Five years ago, we disconnected our service due to the poor customer care and high prices. Yesterday, you proved once again why this was one of the smartest things weve ever done. Due to a couple of issues with our current provider, we decided to give you another chance. We went to our local Cox service center and set up new service. The in-store representative was quite helpful, but thats where the good service ended. He scheduled install for yesterday between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. We made sure that we would be home, corralled the dogs and attempted to make things easy for the installer to do his job. You never showed up. At 3:00 p.m., I called the representative who had placed the order and scheduled the appointment. He told me he sent a message to the dispatch center and to the tech assigned to the order requesting status and told me somebody should call me within 15-20 minutes. Nobody returned my call. When we placed the order, we informed the representative exactly why we had canceled service previously and informed him that it had taken five years before we felt comfortable giving you another chance. Obviously, you still have not earned that second chance. You couldnt be bothered to show up for the scheduled appointment (an appointment which was scheduled a week in advance). You couldnt be bothered to return my repeated phone calls asking what had happened. Its obvious to me that you do not care one bit about taking care of your subscribers. While you may not have a lot of competition in most of your service areas, there are alternatives and streaming services may soon make your crappy product obsolete. I can only hope so. For the last five years, we have been customers of DISH Network. For the most part, weve had few problems; the service is generally reliable, although it does tend to drop out during severe weather, a time when you really need to be informed. Currently, they are in a pissing match with Turner Broadcasting, which owns CNN and Turner Classic Movies, among others. These channels have been removed from the lineup, but we continue to pay the same price for less service. Certainly, all of these pay TV providers have their problems, but for our money, Dish is the way to go and they will continue to get our business for now.
