Hey Everybody - Thank you all so much for the good wishes, advice and for sharing your own war stories with me. My surgery seems to have gone well. I did not have a chance to speak with the surgeon after the procedure, however. Man, that nerve block was pretty strong stuff, and it took a while waking back into this world, and by the time i did he was already in surgery again. Sharon did get to have a brief chat with him after the surgery while i was trying to get my brain and body in sync with one another But all seems to be exactly as he said it would be, and i am home getting used to this sling, and the prescribed meds have been working just fine. I have my first post-op appointment on the 1st, and an email into him at the moment so i will know more soon. I do know he is not going to rush me into PT with any great haste. That much I know, and he wants me to take it easy and stay close to the house - like in it - for around three months. A fall or a tight hug at a holiday party could undo it all. I know i sure dont want to have go through it again. And I also know i am very lucky to have this surgeon, as his reputation, as they say, precedes him. So listen, i shall. I want to thank all of you again, as your posts and notes really helped me feel confident in the situation, my surgeon, what to expect in recovering, and on and on. I was pretty nervous going in, and yuo helped me a lot. You guys are the best. I especially want to thank Sharon, who was incredibly great, and really stayed on top of everything; every word the doctor said, all the details, and all the TLC i could ever ask for during every second of a tough as nails 16 hour day, and a two hour ride on either side of that. Ive said it before but its a funny old world where a monkey like me can marry a woman like Sharon. I love you, baby. I also want to thank my great friend and brother, Neil Giraldo, for his relentless friendship, brotherhood, generosity, assistance, concern (i think he called or texted Sharon at least a dozen times yesterday alone), on top of his being responsible in my getting this surgeon. Every time I needed something, i turned around and he was already there with it. For the last near-30 years its been that way. He and his missus are really my West Coast family.
