Hey Everyone! As most of you know, I try not to create a ton of posts on here simply because this page was never intended to be a marketing piece but just a page that tells Chases story and raises awareness about Neurofibromatosis. Well, this past week has been simply amazing and I would like to take a moment to talk about some wonderful people that we have chatted with and we are blessed to now consider these folks friends. There has been an amazing amount of support and we truly thank every one of you, even if your name isnt mentioned here. 1. Steve Michalek - This was a true honor to speak with Steve on a couple occasions. Most of you probably watched the video of Connor the Crusher, his battle with cancer and the time he spent with WWE Superstars!! Connors story warms my heart every time I think about it. Well Steve, is Connors dad. Few people understand the feelings that come with having a child go through surgeries and battle an illness like this and I find a great amount of inspiration from Steve! He is a wonderful man, with a wonderful heart and I am proud to call him a friend!! Stay strong Steve! 2. Gregory Iron - Many of you wrestling fans probably know Gregory! He was born with cerebral palsy, which has caused his right arm to have a very limited range of motion. Against all odds, he fought to achieve his dream of being a pro wrestler. (This sounds like a certain determined little 7 year old that I know) Gregory and Chase are going to spend some time together in the near future and I feel that Chase is going to learn so much from him about determination and defying all odds!! Go like his Facebook page!!! Or Check out his website at gregory-iron 3. Terry Darby - A die-hard wrestling fan who has a heart of gold. Terry and I have had the chance to talk on the phone for a while and I have learned a tremendous amount about his character. Terry likes to be a positive influence for kids. He spends his own time and money with troubled or sick children.... often times taking them to wrestling events to show them that they are special. If more people in this world did the things that Terry does, it would be a much better place. God Bless you and your efforts!! 4. BodySlam University - This is a wrestling training facility located in Ft. Wayne, IN. Jayson Maples, who I believe is the owner, has offered to allow us some time for Chase to get into the ring and take dad down. We are definitely looking forward to meeting Jayson and spending some time at his facility. 5. Heartland Wrestling Association - Located in Cincinnati, HWA is a pretty well known wrestling association in the area and they are wanting to help Chase realize his dreams by getting him in the ring next time we go to Cincinnati for medical care. After a long day in multiple doctors appointments, I think would be a very beneficial anxiety reliever for Chase. 6. Real Action Wrestling Pro Wrestling - John Catheline took time to share Chases picture but also wants to take it a step farther. With Chase being a huge wrestling fan and Real Action Wrestling being so far away from us, geographically, John has requested our address so he can send Chase a care package of wrestling merch!!! Again, I know that there are so many other people that have shown support, and I may not have mentioned your name but believe me when I say, each of you are important, loved and we appreciate it!! We still have not told Chase about the backstage passes yet but hopefully will be doing so soon. If you know Chase and you see him out, please do not say anything as we want this to be a complete surprise to him. On another note, we are still waiting to hear back from the insurance to see if the appeal has worked on the medication that Chase needs. If everyone that saw Chases original post with the sign, would have donated $1.00, we would have already been able to order the medication to slow/stop his tumor growth. :-) Pretty awesome thing to think about!
