If you successfully complete a California Mature Driver Improvement (Initial Course) approved by the California Department of Motor Vehicles you receive a mandatory discount on vehicle liability insurance (as provided under section 11628.3 of the California insurance code). The reduced vehicle liability insurance is good for 3 years after completion of the course. I contacted USAA and confirmed I would receive between an 8% to 15% discount on my annual premium upon proof of completion.
