Hey FB peoples, Im switching hats for a minute...from artist to art broker.... Im honored to be working with the estate of a phenomenal Seattle artist, the late and great Gene Edward Rivers. Well begin releasing prints from his vast body of original work. Genes artistic resume is too long to list, but includes: - A child prodigy - Painted his first mural at age 12 (Summit Elementary School, Seattle ~ later known as The Northwest School) - Earned a scholarship to Cornish School of the Arts in 1969 - Cascade Art Gallery, Seattle presented his first exhibition in 1969 - Work hung at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, 1986 - Painted two murals for Seattle Woodland Park Zoo and one for the original Boeing Flight Museum under the direction of mural artist John Metzgar. - Served on the Frye Art Museum Board in Seattle, 1996-1997 - Private collections at: Nordstrom, Safeco Insurance, Group Health, Essence Magazine, Estate of Carl and Josephine Krafft, and more... - Work is noted among: Jacob Lawrence, Gwendolyn Knight, Eddie Walker, Marita Dingus, James W. Washington Jr., Alonso Davis, Al Doggett, Danny Mayes, Eric Salisbury, Barbara Thomas and many more... Originally done in pastels, they showcase an emotional depth and a rich glow that capture the phenomenal jazz singer beautifully. All prints are size 18x24, including the white border.
