Hey FB world ... Im putting myself out there right now to ask for support. If you arent aware, there was a theatre company in Charlotte that recently had to close its doors. While thats a terribly sad thing, it has presented an opportunity for indie theatre companies like me to bid on an auction for seriously ALL of their equipment. With the help of a recent donation, Stephen Seay Productions is planning to bid on a new light board. In fact, Im teaming up with a fellow theatre producer to double our bid in the hopes of winning the auction and share this light board. But theres so much more stuff on there that would really make a difference in the way I design my shows. Also, this equipment will support not only my company, but AT LEAST five other theatre/performance companies. I dont really put this out there to the general public, but I donate my time and lighting equipment to help others design their shows at no cost to them. Theatre is expensive. Ive been around for five years so Ive added up a pretty nice set up for myself (as far as equipment goes) ... so I can afford to help other people. If anyone out there is interested in making a donation to my production company this week, Id LOVE to hear from you. With my fiscal sponsorship through Metrolina Theatre Association, this can be a tax-deductible donation. Its really easy, just write a check - and Ill even come to your house to pick it up (or your work, your mamas house, your neighbors house, where ever you need me to go)! Dont even worry about the stamp!! But seriously, if ANYONE is able to make a donation at this time, your support will seriously boost the indie theatre community more than could be measured. Id love to raise $500, but Ill take anything. If you arent able to give financial support right now (or if youve already given your financial support - and I thank you for that) please like and share this post - you never know who out there will see this No amount is too small or too great. I have considered asking my parents to loan me some cash but ooooooo I hate doing that hahaha! Dont get me wrong, I love them - but its been YEARS since Ive had to do that hahaha But seriously, thanks for at least reading this post if thats all your able to do right now.
