Hey, GPC family! Are you familiar with the random acts of kindness movement? It’s simple: do a random act of kindness for someone nearby. The goal? Spread kindness. Let’s take it one step further: let’s have a theme per week throughout the next month. That’s one act of kindness per week for four weeks. Here’s how to join: 1. Use the following themes to enact random acts of kindness, one per week, over the rest of May. Week 1: Kindness. Find ways to serve with kindness. Greet someone new at church. Call an old friend. Weekly social media tag: #ServingWithKindness Week 2: Food. Find ways to serve with food. Serve a meal at the Lord’s Table. Share a meal with a coworker. Buy someone groceries or a coffee. Give a snack bar to a homeless person. Weekly social media tag: #FeedingWithService Week 3: Encouragement. Find ways to serve encouragement. Stick a note of encouragement to a loved one in their lunch box. Send someone that you know is sick or struggling a card. Weekly social media tag: #ServingEncouraging Week 4: Continued service! Either show off something you did with GPC in the past, or a random act of kindness now! Continuing service projects should especially be highlighted. Weekly social media tag: #StillServing 2. Post about it on Facebook or Twitter. We will also have a discussion board on the Table Project. 3. Tag each post with #GPCserves, or share it on our Facebook page. You can also use the special weekly social media tags (and I encourage you to so so!). That way, I can find them and share them! If you want to share a post or photograph anonymously through our GPC Facebook page, please e-mail it to me with permission to post it at gpcsocial@gmail 4. Watch our social media pages! I’m going to try to share/retweet every tagged post I find. Remember, this is not about you, but how God worked through you. You might be surprised about where the Holy Spirit brings you over the next month. Are you in? Post your comments below!
