Hey Guys - Amanda Here - I just want to let you know that after yesterdays nasty attacked towards US - the Sale yards and the Doggers we will no longer be posting photos of dogger horses from sale yards. We got accused of wasting charity money driving 400 kilo metres without saving anything - well we were in Warwick yesterday looking at land without a float and without a plan of saving. Rescuing horses doesnt just involve buying a horse, there are foster carers to consider, medical bills as well as an extra mouth to feed and we are all planned for and set to travel to Grafton sales which has been planned for months. That wasnt the worse of it tho.. Last night two main dogger dealers got harassed with abusive phone calls to the point where both loaded up a truck load of horses and sent them for process this morning. Harassing the knackery owners with nasty abusive phone calls doesnt help. They are always happy to help people who are polite, have a clear lot number of horse they are interested in and want the horse with transport arranged. But it seems this is also stopping. We will post dates of sales and if your interested please GO TO THE SALE and buy a horse. Harassing doggers only gets horses trucked off to the knackery faster... One last thing, its laughable that idiot people who proclaim to be in the sales yesterday are attacking SAHA for leaving a pregnant mare there without buying her - They were at the sales, they didnt buy her either but we are the worse people in the world. There were a few in foal mares at those sales yesterday, there were over 200 horses in the dogger pens yesterday and we went there while we were already in the area to have a look as we have never been to the Warwick sales before. We went there with an empty bank account, without an approved foster carer, without a float and without the intention of buying a horse. Now please note as a charity all decisions we make have to be approved IN THE MINUTES of meetings BY ALL committee members. If I had of spent money from the charity account without the permission of Jen IT WOULD BE ILLEGAL. So before you start attacking a very well established horse rescue which only take in horses when they can provide EVERYTHING for that horse, maybe stand up and rescue the poor thing yourself. Rescuing horses doesnt just involved BUYING a horse and throwing it in a paddock!! Now to all of the amazing people (who well out weight the jerks) Thank you for doing the right thing, sadly again the nasty abusive people have made things hard for those who do the right thing. But we must protect our volunteers and committee members as well and after the abusive messages and comments yesterday we have to draw the line, posting the photos to try and help the horses has gotten us and the knackery buyers so much abuse and sadly its just not worth it... Many knackery buyers wont even sell to the public anymore due to these abusive calls. This is really sad.... So - We will attend sales when we can, when we have room and extra funds - we wont be posting photos of the sales on facebook anymore - but we will post sale dates, so if you want to save a horse please go to the sales and buy them from there direct.
