Hey Guys! Joe the Digger here! Sorry I havent posted in a while and Im afraid I dont have a good excuse :( . But! No worries! Ive been thinking about what I should post once I do, so here it is! It might be a tad long, but please stick around, as I feel this might be interesting to some of you! The first time I heard the rap is a mans soul version of Libera me from Hell, I fell in love. It may be an odd mix of opera and rap, but it works phenomenally! At the time, I was still in my sombre state of mind (if you remember my story of how gurren lagann changed my life), and everything that the show presented was odd to me: believe in the me who believes in myself? Do the impossible? See the invisible? Touch the untouchable? Break the unbreakable? And God forbid! FIGHT THE POWER!? WHAT!? What does it all mean? After doing some thinking and reflecting on the shows message, I got it. It clicked in me, just as Im sure it did with all of you at some point, in your own way. Flash forward about a year later. I already had sora iro days and libera me from hell downloaded onto my ipod. I finally decided to look up what the opera lyrics meant, so I youtubed Libera me from hell subbed so I watched and listened and enjoyed even more now that I knew what everything meant. As with all youtube, videos I watch, I scroll down to read some of the comments so I can read how other people also think how epic the song is. The top voted comment, however, was much, much more. It made me appreciate the song much more than I previously did. It said something along these lines: Just in case anyone doesnt notice. The song in itself is an argument. The opera part is praying to God for mercy from their fate, whereas the rap half, of course, is retorting. The rap half basically says that we have the power of our fate in our own hands. WE can do the impossible, see the invisible, touch the untouchable, and break the unbreakable. WE have that power over our own lives. That said, just my own two cents here, but I agree in full. I dont want to start any kind of debate, everyone has their own beliefs, but I believe that concept to be true. Heres the thing: I believe in God. However, I do not believe in the classical version of God, where he basically controls everything like our destinies, fates, when we die, etc. etc. This is my own opinion. I simply believe he is an ever-benevolent being who simply gives his support to us in non-physical ways, in other words, he doesnt step in on our lives, he roots for us! That is my own belief. WE have the power to change ourselves and our fates and destinies and whatever else! I could go on for days with my philosophy on this matter, but Ill stop now. lol. If youre still reading, thanks for sticking around for this long! Please remember! I do NOT want to start a debate, OR offend anyone. If I did in any way, Im sorry. I simply wish to spread the word of this awesome song and its meaning! On an ending note [ FINALLY! I know ;) ], Which argument do you think won? In my opinion, its the one left standing (singing) in the end. ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH! youtube/watch?v=VT6LFOIofRE
