Hey Guys, time for some updates. It looks like Word In The Shop - TopicsExpress

Hey Guys, time for some updates. It looks like Word In The Shop will be a little late coming out again this month, but I may have some time around this weekend to do it. On the subject of my new scratch-build, Sierra Railway Baggage-Mail-Express car #8 is well underway! All four walls have been cut and assembled with the frame. After some work covering the floor and stabilizing the body, I will begin on the roof. It looks as though most of this car should be done by New Years. :D My Sierra #30 project is still on my current to-do list, but its moving at a slow pace right now. At this moment, I have only completed shaping the boiler shell, and must cut the domes and stack before it can be prepped for paint. I recently visited the Niles Canyon Railway to measure Pickering #12s cab, so I can begin building one for my model of that locomotive. Once the cab is finished, the remaining work is pure and simple and should only take a few days to complete before it is ready for paint. I might have that locomotive operating in time for New Years as well. After all the work on Shay #12 is finished, it will be the first time since I bought the locomotive (in 2007) that it has been in regular operation. One last topic: The Melones Switchback Three Module. That is definitely still on my to-do list, but it has fallen to a spot much lower than I had originally planned. I remembered that one of my major priorities is to connect as many of my modules together as possible in order to finally hold an operating session across the entire layout, which I have never been able to do. Oakdale is one of the modules necessary for such an operation, and should therefor be the next project of that kind. (Oakdale is also an easy module to build compared to building one of the switchbacks) Thats all for now, but keep checking back for more updates!
