Hey, I hope I dont brutally offend any of my friends here, but outlawing guns is not the way to solve the type of violence Santa Barbara saw yesterday. There are tons of us who own guns who dont go shooting people up because weve been devastated by things like rejection or other presumed injustices. The laws are pretty strict with regard to the legal purchase of guns. Felons who didnt perpetrate violent crimes cant even buy a gun legally (and yes, felons are not always felons because they were violent). The problem is societys lack of concern for programs which would assist people who either have mental illness or just basic problems with how to cope with things that hurt. And Im tired of hearing people say, We shouldnt have to pay for these whiny-assed depressed people whose parents probably didnt raise them right. The people saying this junk are often the same people who go to church every Sunday claiming to love their neighbors. Bullcrap. The bottom line here is that we can fund programs which will help people, and if helping people cuts back on these shootings (which is essentially the goal, I would presume), why in the hell are we still arguing about what to do? Society = douchebags.
