Hey, I hope you had a great week, Parshat Vayera Power of covenant. On the third day after the bris of Avraham Avinu, it says, Vehu yoshev petach haohel (Bereishit 18:1). He was sitting by the gates of his tent.You know what it is to make a covenant with somebody? what does it mean that i have a covenant with god?Our holy rabbis teach us that on the first day you do something holy, you are with it and youre flying high. the second day you cool off a little bit, and on the third day you might regret it. So God wanted to see what Avraham Avinu was doing on the third day. Is he still with it, or is he regretting it? And look where Avraham Avinu was... sitting outside waiting to continue his covenant and bring someone inside. So lets sit and open the gates together to pray for the land of Israel, Our dear brothers and sisters fighting to save our land, our people? why dont we pray together for all those who need healing, shidduchim, parnassah? and why dont we pray together to have the most awesome, gorgeous, beautiful, peaceful, happy, healthy, amazing, hilarious, sweet, fun, relaxed, spiritual and sweet Shabbat as well as peace in Israel. And lets pray together for Refael Batzalel Mordachai ben Chana Raizel, one of my closest friends sons whos in desperate need for prayers. For those in Israel I will be speaking about ZAKA, the work we do and some of my experiences Monday evening, 8PM at the OU Center, 22 Keren Hayesod, Jerusalem. Its a very inspirational and emotional talk. 20 shekels entry but well worth the money.
