Hey Samurais! So big announcement for Free Comic Book Day! For the first time ever, we are doing a limited edition print from Joel Gomez (my favorite artist!) that will be available at all 3 Samurai Comics locations this Saturday! This print is going to be first in a series of prints, a brand new one each and every Free Comic Book Day, and I was insanely happy that I could convince Mike to go with Joel Gomez as our first contributor. If you are not familiar with Joel Gomez, here is a link to some of his stuff: j0elg.tumblr/ You can see his works in the Flashpoint: Reverse Flash one-shot, Rift: Telara Chronicles, Authority: The Lost Year, Gears of War and many many more. He also does a TON of sketch cards for various companies! For those of you who would like to see some more of his art, Ill bring my personal sketch book into the Avondale store (thats the store I manage and mostly work at, so sorry for the other two stores!) this Wednesday. He is a fantastic artist (my sketchbook is pretty much full of his artwork), and he is a fixture at both Amazing Arizona Comic Con as well as the upcoming Phoenix Comic Con. He and his wife Beth Sotelo (bethsotelo/blog/) are two of the nicest and most talented people you could ever meet, and I hope that you not only stop by FCBD at your favorite Samurai Comics to pick up one of Joels prints, but also stop by their booths at Phoenix Comic Con (get him to sign it!). Another massive announcement for FCBD, this one concerning the Camelback location: The Channel 3 News will again be returning to cover Free Comic Book Day this Saturday! They will be there crazy earlier at 7am and will be filming throughout the day. So we ask that anyone that can make it out to the Camelback store that early do so. Show your love for comics and Samurai, get on tv, and get your comics before the mad rush! Come in costume if you have one! Just a friendly reminder on hours for all 3 locations: Camelback Super Store: Opens at 7am! Mesa: 10am to 7pm Avondale: Opens at 9am! We will have costumed characters at all 3 locations, as well as a face painter! Mesa is also having the annual Arizona Comic Mini-Expo (acmecon.wordpress/)! Cant wait to see you all on Free Comic Book Day! There are some awesome books, such as DC Comics Futures End #0, Rocket Raccoon, and Guardians of the Galaxy! Lots of cant miss, must have stuff!
