Hey Team B. Balis x Ray this morning did show a pocket of fluid on his right side. The chest tube there is either not reaching it or is clogged. They gave him a heavy dose of lasiks intravenously to see if he could pass a good deal of that fluid out in his urine. Hes had really heavy wet diapers since then. That is encouraging. They will take another x ray in the morning and do a side by side comparison with todays x ray. He has eaten well for me today and not spit anything back up. Theres concern that if this fluid continues to build up it could make breathing difficult, we dont feel like the fluid will be there long. Balis is determined to do his part and be rid of this extra fluid. There are no plans to put the additional side tube in at the moment. The x ray tomorrow will dictate that. All in all big B is in a very good place. No cultures have shown any infection. This is just a slow down not a step back. OT came in today and they are still very pleased with his progress. We may not have gotten the exact news we wanted today, but Balis has done so well and we are very proud of him and his level of fight and toughness. Hes not finished quite yet. Sarah was able to go home and spend a tiny bit of time with the kids. Her motherly instinct doesnt allow her to stay away for very long.
