Hey, Team Stryker. We are firing up the Care Calendar for another go around. If you read Genies post from Wednesday, you know that things are rough for our friends. The fistula is slow to heal, and its wearing them both down. We cant help with the major things, unfortunately, but we can help with some of the smaller day-to-day things to free Genie up for taking care of Rich and herself. Local folks, below is a list of jobs. You can read about them here, but you need to sign up for them on the Care Calendar. Please dont announce in the comments that you will take a job. Go to the Care Calendar to sign up. Some are jobs that need to be done once a week. Others are just a one time thing. Ive posted how long we expect each job to take, so you can see if you can fit something in. If you can help, please go to the Care Calendar and sign up. Genie orders everything from press and seal tape to keep PICT lines dry to hair dryers on Amazon. All kinds of odd supply needs have popped up during this experience. Gift cards can be sent to Genies email: geniealisa@gmail THE JOBS JOB: TPN supplies prep WHEN: Weekly between Tuesday evening and Wednesday at 7pm HOW LONG: 1 hour max WHERE: Strykers house (supplies are refrigerated, so it has to be done there) Sort the TPN from large delivery bag into ziploc bags for each day of the week. No medical background is necessary for this job. You just have to be able to sort stuff. JOB: Edging sidewalk, driveway and backyard WHEN: Weekly. Your choice of day and time. HOW LONG: 1-2 hours WHERE: Strykers house (Tools provided.) JOB: Lawn mowing WHEN: Weekly. Your choice of day and time. HOW LONG: 1-2 hours. WHERE: Strykers house (Tools provided) JOB: Set up secondary medical center upstairs WHEN: ASAP HOW LONG? 1-2 hours. One time job. WHERE: Strykers house Genie needs a place on the second floor of the house stocked with medical supplies for dressing changes, etc, so she doesnt have to run downstairs for everything. JOB: SHOPPING for groceries or other needed items WHEN: Once a week between Friday and Sunday HOW LONG: 1-2 hours Contact Genie (FB msg works fine) on Friday and get a list for what she needs. Complete the shopping and bring items to the house and drop off. The Strykers will reimburse for all shopping or provide cash up front, if necessary. JOB: Empty side porch WHEN: September 6 or 7 WHERE: Stryker House HOW LONG - 2-3 hours. One time job. HOW MANY: 2 or 3 people will make it go quickly Its a few hours of heavy lifting as well as some help with organizing to empty the side porch. JOB: Light housecleaning WHEN: Once a week WHERE: Strykers house HOW LONG 1-2 hours Put away laundry; tidy up the kitchen; vacuum; wipe down bathrooms; general light housework just to help Genie stay ahead of it.
