Hey. This is me saying words. I’d like to call it “J. Gilley – I’m Funny, Too…” but that’s pretty bold and I don’t think I can carry that label. I’ll go out on a very audacious limb and just call it “J. Gilley – Comedy”. This was last Friday in the Jeep Lounge (exotic club in Muncie). Some notes: 1. I did tell one dirty joke. See if you can spot it! 2. The audio got cut slightly at the end of the “boss’s funeral” joke, what I said was “Get it, cuz my boss is a dip?” I mouthed some other syllables. People assumed I was mouthing a profanity, but I actually never even thought of that; I don’t know why my mouth kept moving actually (“that’s great,” maybe?). 3. Gum was held in my hand for most of the show because of bad preparation. 4. Major influences were Steven Wright, followed by Bo Burnham, and a little Tom Green (thanks for the introduction idea, Tom). Many thanks to Joseph Hetman for filming me and capturing it perfectly. He also went in and filtered out some of the buzz noise on the speakers, making it easier to hear me and, ideally, make this a better experience for your ear holes. Unfortunately, with all those pixels, nothing can be done about the pain on your eye holes. 5. If you need a laugh, watch the audience. They’re funnier than I am. It didn’t go as smoothly or as well as I thought it would, but in other ways, it was executed in a miraculous way. Also, I sound like Bud Bundy.
