Hey Yogis, We just returned from San Francisco Yoga Journal retreat... It was a blast! And we cant wait to share what we learned with you all... A Wabi Sabi Yoga Retreat Pared down to its barest essence, wabi-sabi is the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection and profundity in nature. Brought to you by: Mike Hoog Physical Therapist/Yoga Instructor Lori Erickson Physical Therapist/Yoga Instructor Kristine Coblentz Mindfulness and Yoga Instructor Max Schultze AcroYoga specialist In T or C New Mexico, February 13-15, 2015 Friday, February 13 Session I --with Mike (6-7:30pm): Opening with a discussion to introduce the concepts of Wabi Sabi followed by gentle deep stretching restorative yoga session…(please bring an item of clothing you would like to tie-dye). Session II --Flight School (7:30-8:30pm): Finish the evening with a session in playfulness including demonstration in Acro-yoga (with Max) and instruction in beginning Acro-yoga (flight school). Participate if you want or just watch. We will also have other options of simple activities to allow you to explore your playful side. Saturday, February 14 Session I with Lori (9:30 – 11 am): Wake up with an invigorating Vinyasa flow yoga session followed by more exploration of Wabi Sabi concepts experienced through your own mini Zen sand garden. 11am-2pm Lunch (on your own), hot spring soak if you wish! Session II with Kristine (2-3:30p): Return to center with a Pranakriya class including mindful awareness, breath practice, and a deep exploration of basic yoga postures. 5-7pm Social Time (at Mike & Loris home) Relax and get to know your fellow yogis—old and new friends? We will provide soup and desserts feel free to bring food to share or not. Tie-Dye: We will be adding color to your previously tied pieces. Sunday, February 15 Final Session with Mike (9-10:30 am): Therapeutic twisty vinyasa yoga session that leaves you supple and strong. Closing ceremony with Tie-dye reveal.
