Hey all! I thought it would be a great idea to post our favorite holiday recipes for those looking for ideas. Please post your favorites in the comments. Here is one of my favorites... Apple Pecan Tart Preheat oven to 400 degrees 1.5 c dates 1/4 c water 2 c pecans 2 medium sized apples 1 tb maple syrup 2 tbs flour (any type) 1 tsp cinnamon 1. In a food processor or blender, add dates and water. Blend well 2. Add pecans to the date mixture and blend until it begins to ball 3. Refrigerate dough for about 10-15 min (this will make it easier to work with) 4. Cover the bottom of a spring form pan or pie pan with parchment paper. 5. Press the dough into the bottom of the pan. This is your pecan pie crust 6. Bake the crust for 10 min at 400 degrees. 7. Take the crust out and cool for 10 min. Reduce the oven heat to 350 degrees. 8. Slice the apples fairly thin and mix with flour, syrup, and cinnamon 9 After the crust has cooled arrange the apples on top of the crust 10. Cover the edges with tin foil and bake the tart for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. * I suggest brushing the warm tart with one tbs of your favorite jam. This will give the tart a nice sheen. I used a fruit sweetened apricot jam. Let the tart cool and enjoy!
