Hey all! Results of my salary survey are in: First things first: The data! It can be found (along with my super simple python stats script) here. https://github/benjamincohen1/Salary_Data My Cleaning of the data consisted of: Taking out any currency symbols (ie people entering $9000 instead of 9000) and commas (9,000 instead of 9000) and removing two data points (though if any of you are actually 14-15 and making 300,000/month let me know and Ill put you back in). Before my results, a few notes. First, theres not really enough data to make too many statistically significant observations, and lots of categories only had a handful of data points. Lots of my standard deviations were well over 3,000, so take all of this with a grain of salt. Anyways, my observations, in no particular order: Males and females do not make a statistically significant (p=.7905) amount of money (huzzah!) Female: Average: 5012.609375 Standard Deviation: 1961.13964191 Num Datapoints: 16 Male: Average: 5244.99229885 Standard Deviation: 3351.12994014 Num Datapoints: 87 Prefer not to answer: Average: 7200.0 Standard Deviation: 0.0 Num Datapoints: 1 Bigger Companies pay more money: 1-50: Average: 4164.03911765 Standard Deviation: 3155.31623565 Num Datapoints: 34 51-500: Average: 5030.375 Standard Deviation: 3539.61150543 Num Datapoints: 16 501+: Average: 5956.53240741 Standard Deviation: 2843.01912669 Num Datapoints: 54 There is no apparent correlation between salary and satisfaction Looking ONLY at the 18-23 age range, older people make more money. There wasnt enough data to include my other age ranges. Discuss?
