Hey all, So we just spoke to Jasons Infectious Disease doctor. We again have gotten some bad news! As it turns out the specimens they took out of his back have started to grow cultures of 2 kinds of Staph this time. We are battling Staphylococcus Auerus & Epidermidisis. The doctors said its unfortunate that we have active cultures but good because we now know what to treat. Yesterday he has his PICC Line put in and he will do a 6 week cycle of an antibiotics. They will choose the antibiotic based on a few things; First being they will make sure its one that the bacteria isnt resistive to, Secondly find an antibiotic that fits in with Jasons broad Allergy profile. Sadly Again, we have a situation where the bacteria wasnt visible to the surgeon & we put in the new hardware back into an infected field. 😔Now we have to treat him as he is chronically infected. We need prayers please that this doesnt again cause his spine not to fuse! If so, we will have again an unstable & infected spine..... 😓
