Hey all! Wanted to share a realization I had recently when I subbed Tinas 9:00am Beginning Yoga class. The next day... after a class that I taught and demonstrated, but didnt fully do, I was SORE. My shoulders, quads and glutes sung to me all the next day. It reminded me that Yoga and Nia are complementary practices that really work optimally when done together because they work the body in different and complementary ways. Nia gives us the JOY of movement, cardiovascular aerobic conditioning, mobility and agility… and while it does provide stability, strength and flexibility... it doesnt allow the depth and length of work or the quiet time for meditation and reflection that Yoga does. If you havent already incorporated Yoga into your practice, I highly recommend it! We have some wonderful yoga teachers on staff and Im going to try to incorporate taking some classes in my schedule as well! I put together a couple of sample schedules just to give you some ideas! :) 3 Classes/Week *Monday 6:45pm Nia *Thursday 6:45pm Yoga *Saturday 9:00am Nia 4 Classes/Week *Tuesday - 5:30pm Nia *Wednesday - 5:30pm Yoga *Thursday - 5:30pm Nia *Saturday - 10:30am Yoga 5 Classes/Week *Monday - 6:45pm Nia *Tuesday - 6:45pm Yoga *Wednesday - 6:45pm Nia *Thursday - 6:45pm Yoga *Saturday - 9:00am Nia 6 Classes/Week *Sunday - 6:30pm Yoga *Monday - 6:45pm Nia *Tuesday - 6:45 Yoga *Wednesday - 6:45pm Nia *Thursday - 6:45pm Yoga *Saturday - 9:00am Nia Enjoy!
