Hey all, if anyone happens to have some vacation time this summer and is looking for something to do, might I suggest skipping Seoul and travelling around the rest of Korea? The national parks are gorgeous all over or you can explore Jeollanamdo which is really close to Jeju. You can take a 3 1/2 hr ferry ride from Jeju-si to Wando and from there you can island-hop all along the Jeollanam-do coast. In total the ferry from jeju to any island in near Wando would cost you less than 30,000won. I would suggest Bogildo Island, which is a gorgeous, largely undeveloped, very non-touristy island (ie. free Korean practice sessions) with pebble beaches and evergreen forests. You can go camping on the beaches or stay at minbaks along the coast for ~50,000won. My pension owner at 환토펜션 was so excited to have a foreigner staying over she made sure I was fed for the entire time I was there. The nicest people Ive ever met live on that island :) So yeah, something to consider if anyone has the travel-bug but a tight budget ^^
