Hey all, this is a post about BREED DISCRIMINATION. --The - TopicsExpress

Hey all, this is a post about BREED DISCRIMINATION. --The pictures attached are of my pitbull Jake with ALL kinds of different breeds, loving and playing with them in our home. Ive added these pictures to give a better understanding of how great of a dog he is : ) --Read on for the whole reasoning behind doing that. As most of you know I do doggy day care out of my house. Since starting this adventure. I, as well as my fur babies have had the chance to meet so many amazing pups & their amazing owners. My dogs have not had an issue with any of the dogs. Paisley and Jake have accepted all the dogs from little puppies around 5 pounds all the way up to a massive 100+ pound rottweiler. This last two weeks I was contacted by a fella who wanted me to sit his 4 month old Bouvier pup. I suggested he come by with his pup so our dogs could meet as well as him having the opportunity to see my house and meet me and my family. He came by on Monday and the meet and greet went very well. His dog was a little mouthy, and snappy but nothing with any sign of aggressive motives. As the meet and greet was wrapping up he told me he would love to bring his dog by the next day and he thought his dog with love our place. So that same night he called me at 10pm to let me know that he had spoken to his wife and told his wife that THEIR dog had gotten snippy and such but it wasnt of any concern. She then asked him what kind of dogs were here and he told her we had a pitbull and a pitbullX and she told him she was not letting her dog come here. She told him she wanted to meet me and the dogs because she didnt want her dog around my pitbulls. He also said you know she is just worried because its pitbulls. As if the comment was just not going to be a shot to the heart of a pitbull owner who does nothing but try to show the world that this is such a misunderstood breed. I told him I would LOVE to have his wife over to see that its not pitbulls she needs to fear, its bad dog owners. He told me that was great and they would come by the following day. I never did hear from him or her. I contacted him via text saying exactly this -- Hello (blank). I havent heard from you so Im assuming youve found alternate arrangements. It was a pleasure meeting (blank) and I hope he finds a fun place to spend his days. I do however hope that you and your wife get a chance to not only meet some pitbulls but educate yourself on the breed. Pitbulls are just like any other breed and their temperament just like any other breed is based upon how they are raised which is a direct result of the owner. I wouldnt be able to do what I do and I wouldnt have as many happy clients as I do if my dog was vicious or aggressive in any way. Its saddens me that there are still people in this day and age who discriminate against the unknown based on hear say. Once again I hope you found wonderful accommodations for (blank) and I sincerely hope hehas the opportunity to socialize with ALL breeds. Like I said, dogs are a a direct result of their owners. Take care -- He replied with ya, cant convince my other half to even meet your dog Im not worried about the money, or having another dog. Im doing this because I LOVE dogs and it gives me the opportunity to provide awesome dog care while also building my dogs socializing skills. I would accept ANY breed as long as it was friendly and wasnt aggressive. It enrages me that my sweet, hyper, loving and accepting pitbull puppy is on the other end of someones ignorance. I hope that one day we live in a world where all dogs are accepted, regardless of their breed, or the hype of the breed. If you are reading this and you yourself have questioned the pitbull breed I invite you to come and meet my Jakey boy. Open yourself up to the idea that pitbulls are not vicious, ferocious, aggressive beasts. Our dogs behavior is a direct result of how we raise them. As for the people who judge dogs, any breed, before they even get to know them ... youre the problem!
