Hey dropping a email about some advice Im looking to do off shore charter to chase bigger fish tuna if possable game fish I have purchased items from ur shop b4 and trust the opinion and search fishing charters on the internet Is very unreliable I have been stung b4 costing time and money is there any that you guys can recommend ++++++++++++++++++ Flattered you would ask me, Sam! I’m going to assume you mean off Sydney? If yes, tuna season is effectively over, with marlin season about to begin. The inshore run of small black marlin which we enjoyed so much back in the nineties is pretty much history. Inshore is sadly no longer dependable off Sydney, with most fish now being caught between 60 fathoms and The Shelf. And not in huge numbers. If you can only go on weekends, like so many blokes, which means you can’t pick the week’s best weather day, best to select a bigger boat. That will be comfortable for a long days’ trolling. You need a skipper who knows the ways of marlin. The best combination of those two essentials is Ivan Bennett from Ambition Charters. My suggestion is to book as many of your mates as his boat will hold, and in that way defray costs. If you are not in Sydney and not in a rush, it’s a very good idea to book in February aboard one of the top charter boats out of Port Stephens. And in that case my suggestion for skipper is Scott Thorrington. Not just a nice bloke but he has the runs on the board. Thanks for writing, Andrew
