Hey everybody! Andrew Trementozzi here with a cast and crew call. I am directing my final project for Professor Boland’s Introduction to Production, a 3-4 minute narrative project, and I would love to work with you if this project sparks your interest. Set amidst the dumpsters and trash cans of the back lots and alleys, it is about a young man from the Cardboard Clan, who falls in love with a young lady from the rival Trashbag clan at the Annual Homeless Christmas Ball. In order for him to dance with her, he must overcome the machinations of the tyrannical patriarch of his own family. Cast: Ron: A spry young man in his early 20s, he is uncomfortable in the stiff confines of Cardboard tradition, and is untested in his resolve to pursue true love. Sarah: A winsome young wallflower in her early 20s, she is disenchanted with the chaos and fluidity of the Trashbag dances, and finds herself often alone and on the sidelines. Amelia: An imperious and controlling young lady in her early to mid 20s, she is the daughter of the Cardboard Patriarch and carries out his commands loyally. Pat: A grizzled man in his 40s who has aged before his time, he watches over and protects the Cardboard Clan as Patriarch and does not tolerate deviation from Cardboard tradition and purity. Maddy: The Matriarch of the Trashbag Clan, she is a middle aged woman who has aged gracefully, though not slowly, in part due to her easygoing manner and philosophy towards life. Johnny: A lonely young Trashbag man, he finds himself left out of the dancing and celebration at the Christmas Ball. Cardboard ensemble: A diverse group of homeless men and women, they are united by their adherence to tradition, order, and structure, as befits the Cardboard Clan. Trashbag ensemble: A diverse group of homeless men and women, they are easy going and value individual expression in dance and dress, as befits the Trashbag Clan.
