Hey everybody! Sorry I havent posted in over a month by life seems to get in the way. The voting forms go out on Tuesday in form time or Wednesday if you have house assembly and the ballot closes on Thursday. The debate that was going to happen has been cancelled due to the bench for life, ncea and it was starting to look really boring. But besides that, I have to hand in a piece of writing to try and convince people to vote for me. It has to be in by 8:40 tomorrow. If you have any thoughts please feel free to tell me. Academic: Level one with Merit. Level one maths with merit. Close to gaining level 2 with Merit. Why you should vote for me as the Student Representative: Throughout your time at Tauranga Boys’ College. How much have you seen done because of the student rep? If youre like me then next to nothing. I am promising a change. This school needs a person who can come with a clear head, a good plan and the ability to make a change. These are all attributes that I possess. For the last year I have been talking to members of the school to find out what they most want. And I have reached a top four; changes to the uniform code, a better use of technology in classrooms, more activities with Tauranga Girls’ College and an open governance system that allows you to know what is happening in YOUR school. Through me, all of these (and many more) are possible. I have spent hours building my skill at debating so that I can make a clear and precise argument. I have sat in on and been an active member of pre-existing organisations ranging from sports halls to community planning. These skills and experience allow me to represent you the most effective way possible. I am also the kind of person that is approachable and believe that there is no bad idea. Whats more is that I am not going to be a year 13 in 2015. This means that I am not doing this to make just my year groups life easier as candidates in the past has done. Any changes I make will affect everyone. In short, I am promising a change, days where you are listened to and respected. Days where your wishes are communicated clearly. And when what you want is done.
