Hey everybody! Today has been one of the busiest days of my life so far, especially for the start of 2015. And I am very positive there will be busier days yet ahead for me in the future, near and far. Things are finally looking up for me and shaping into the way I want my life to be. And in hindsight, Im glad its because of my serious heart-attack on the 3rd of April last year that nearly killed me (but did not). 2015 is the start of the many changes in my life (where I get noticed and all) and its been looking good so far, I have to admit. And I wont lie and say its been an easy journey so far because, its not. The road to freedom and recognition is a lot of hard work and dedication, especially for a nobody like me who is neither rich, tall, good-looking, talented or from a well-to-do background. Which, of course, translates into me having to work extra hard by going that extra mile in pursuing my dreams! Today, three things happened to me which are really good news that make me feel so elated! Now, unknown to almost everybody except for my immediate family (my parents), I have been taking a sort of refresher course in MS Excel Spreadsheet under Kaplan known as ICDL - Perform Spreadsheet Functions the last two days with today as the third and final day where the EXAM was held! Before I carry on, there are a few things I need to point out. First of all, I had been begging my previous company to sponsor myself and my ex-team mates to attend such a 3-days basic course for the benefit of our work because some of us computer illiterates or idiots (like myself) really needed the course to help us understand and thus perform better and faster in our job since our job actually required us to handle MS Excel Spreadsheet ALOT as we had to key in and update the shipments data every single day for most of the shipments we did and there are TONS of them. But all to no avail. So in the end, I did what I thought is right and went to the WDA, a government sector that assists unemployed jokers like me, for help even though I had, by then, long quit my export admin job. And just for the record, my three days of torture of sleeping early and waking up at 6 in the AM has finally paid off because the course is considered a whole day course that starts at 8:30 am and ends at 5:30 pm! I not only passed the exam but I passed with full 100% marks and I was one of the earliest to complete everything, which was all 36 questions of what we learned these three days and yeah, I dare to say Im proud of myself because I hate studying and learning new things! My lao-shi (Mandarin for teacher) even mentioned that I was the only one to score full marks in my class (if shes not wrong lah) and that means a lot to someone like me who hates going through details and information and all that crap! Which has actually inspired me to take up more computer-related courses in the coming future, especially MS Word Starter 2010 since I am, ahem, foremost, a writer, blogger and published author. Second piece of news is that I have finally found a job, albeit a temporary one that pays at an hourly rate. Starting next Wednesday, that is the 28th of January, 2015, Ill be a food promoter at the Cold Storage at Suntec City from 11 am to 8 pm from Wednesday to Sunday. Please do support me hor, as Im only on trial for a week as there is a daily sales target to hit! If I fail to hit the quota of the day for a week, Ill be terminated from the job FOREVER lol. That should be interesting since Im not sure if thats even a challenge at all! And now, for the third and final piece of GOOD NEWS!!! My new business video (aka my recyclable book video on YouTube) I promised from many months back last year is finally done and almost ready for viewing! YAY!!! All it needs is my approval and so far, from what I have seen I am pretty satisfied lor. Although only a minute long, the video does describe my book very well and the words have indeed piqued my interest. If I wasnt the sole author of my own modern-day fairy-tale fantasy novel set in the Singapore of the 80s as well as a magical kingdom with not one but two different endings I would at least have read through the book review myself! Yup, my book promo video is that interesting but dont you believe me! See it for yourself and then judge it @ youtu.be/ABQYJqLXB18 Hopefully, because of the existence of my professional book video done by professionals from the USA which I paid a handsome price for, the sales of my first published novel in the next few months will inspire me to work on my second fantasy novel based on my first fantasy novel :P. Thats all for now. Need my beauty sleep leh!
