Hey everybody, its time for us to address all criticism and curiosities. The Cda police department was called yesterday,simply, in order to investigate a van that may have possibly been the one involved in attempted child luring. As members of this community, with children, we felt compelled to have this checked into. We were unaware that there was an animal in the vehicle at all, the Cda Police Department was not called because of the dog. While we respect our local police force, we in no way condone the actions that took place here yesterday. We love families, children, and animals- we welcome and host several dogs on our patio everyday. Java on Sherman was not involved in the decision making processes of the officers that handled the situation, we had no idea that any life had been taken. Nor did we make the decision to have the vehicle towed-that is what we were instructed to do, after the fact. We had no idea who the van belonged to and it was not a calculated act of maliciousness but, rather, an attempted act of community protection. Contrary to what is being said by some, when the gentleman was asked to leave by our landlord it was not out of a lack of sensitivity for what had just happened, but an exercise in caution because we are civilians and are not trained to deal with the fall-out of the whole situation and we had others safety to look out for as well- because we had no idea what had just happened and the Cda police department was no longer here to explain to us or the gentleman. We are shocked and horrified by what happened here yesterday, this was never our intention. We, along with the rest of this community are eagerly awaiting an explanation.
