Hey everyone - Happy Monday to you. My grandmother Barbara Friedrich passed away last week after a year long battle with Pancreatic cancer the same disease that took my grandfather Paul from us 18 years ago. As my Auntie Margaret Friedrich Diego said my Grandmother was a giver and gave everything she had to everyone she could throughout her life. Reflecting on this I have decided to live the next year in her honor which is also my year as president of the Pleasanton North Rotary club. The very first event we will be doing is Relay for Life which is put on by the American Cancer Society and I am walking in her honor, check out relayforlife.org for more information. On July 19th at 9:00 am our Rotary club along with support from the Foothill High School Interact club are starting a 24 hour walking relay at the Pleasanton Middle School. The event is a lot of fun with games and activities for kids along with themes for each hour of the relay. Myself and our club are not asking for monetary support but looking for a little bit of your time if you are in the area and feeling like joining forces to help rid the world of this terrible disease.
