Hey everyone! Heres my Miss Jamaica World Page :D. I will be posting about my Miss Jamaica World experience and maybe a little extra stuff. So, lets start with a little introduction, shall we? My name is Iyeeka Walters. I am eighteen years old and an upper six student at Hampton School. Im currently sitting my Unit 2 CAPE examinations (Physics, Chemistry, Pure Mathematics and Communication Studies) but im not all that sciencey. I have a passion for the Arts and I love reading, writing (especially poetry), singing, playing the guitar, cooking unique foods and painting. My favourite authors are Sidney Sheldon, John Grisham and James Patterson. I hope to write my own novel someday. My imagination and view of the world is something I would love to share with others :) I love the colour purple and gold jewelry is my favourite. I play the tenor pan in the Hampton Blueprint Steel Band. We are a part of an annual show called Echoes at Hampton School and more recently, the Edna Manley School of the Visual and Performing Arts. I love sports, especially badminton, track and field and swimming. I love experiencing new things and Im a bit of a risk taker. I love travelling, eating exotic foods and learning about new cultures and understanding other peoples way of life. Some of the things on my bucket list are skydiving, touring the world and starting my very own charity. Im passionate about literacy and I would love for the opportunity to be a part of improving the literacy rate in Jamaica. For me, it was a big decision entering this pageant because this is my very first pageant experience. However, as I said earlier, Im a risk taker and I wanted to be a part of something that was supporting a great cause and that pushed me outside of my comfort zone. This pageant provided the platform for me to express myself and contribute to bettering society and im very glad that I made that decision. It would be an honor to be your Miss Jamaica World 2014. I would do all that is in my power to be a voice for issues in our country that need attending to. I would carry my responsibility with grace and respect, inspiring young women not only here in Jamaica but also globally.
