Hey everyone! I want to share my recent positive experience with you. I am working on my final year dissertation. Without getting into much details, I will try to replicate and modify study done by one of the most respected person in the area of developmental psychology. When at the stage of stimuli preparation, I thought it would be good idea to ask authors of the original paper for access to their materials. I had many doubts if my email would be even read, but I gave it a try. One week later... I got replied with words : Of course Im happy to share our materials with you. Ive attached them to this email. Please consider sharing your findings with me when you have them; I would be delighted to see your work. What I want to say is that doing empirical project can be very empowering because, to quote my correspondent again : hands-on research is the best way to identify your passion and gain critical experience to prepare you in whatever your future endeavors might be.
