Hey everyone, I wanted to send you all an update on how the surgery went and where Im at in the recovery. Today I finally got my stitches out. I must admit that I was a bit worried about it, but it actually didnt hurt at all and it was done in no time. Now, Im going to be focusing on getting myself through physical therapy, which I will be doing about 2-3 times a week for a while. Im really looking forward to doing the work. Though this part of the process will, of course, take a while and probably get a bit tedious, I feel positive about it - and thinking about playing drums, our band, and all of you guys are a damn good motivator! I want to thank you all with all of my heart for the huge amount of love and support. It has meant a lot to both me and my family and is really helping me get through this whole ordeal. Words truly cant express my gratitude for how much the extended BRMC family and the music community have helped as Ive tried to navigate this very difficult time. I hope I somehow can repay the kindness you have all showed me. I will continue to keep you updated as I work through this, but for now, things are progressing every day and I feel better than I thought I would, at this stage. Perhaps later on I might post some pictures as I start feeling more comfortable with my new scars and buzz cut hair, and if you and I are up for seeing it, maybe a few pictures showing the healing in progress. For now, I just want to say thank you and let you all know that youre in my heart and mind as I continue to heal and move into this next phase of recovering. In a month I will be seeing my amazing surgeon again to talk about when I can start playing again. Lotsa love, Leah
