Hey everyone. Im quite touched and somewhat bemused by the concern a fair few of you have shown for my welfare. I know Im a relatively independent kinda guy who doesnt enjoy being fussed over, but the response to me going off the grid and laying low has been quite massive for me. It was a bit of an epic WTF moment when I was roused by some loud thumping on my door and a voice yelling that it was the Police and my brother. First thoughts were: Shit, what happened to Dad? So to update you all, Ive been in bed and quite ill with the flu and associated aches and pains. I was still okay on Sunday, but sorta started to get headspins during Monday and Tuesday, including a bit of a moment while I was driving on Monday afternoon, which had me a bit worried. First docs appointment on Monday evening, followed by a secondary visit where I was prescribed codeine and something else for the pains and aches. I managed to push through on Tuesday, but after bible study at church on Tuesday evening decided I will forego watching the Giro dItalia and go to bed at 9.30pm. After that I have no idea of time or day, and didnt realise it was Friday when I got that knock on the door. I think I still thought it was Wednesday or Thursday. This flu has absolutely kicked my arse and sat on me for the last 4 days but I am feeling better. The codeine and whatever else is in the meds has led to some really trippy dreams as well. Probably a big factor in why I am being so knocked around by this has been exhaustion, as Ive been working up until 2am and running on an average of 4 hours sleep per night for the last 2 months,. My primary phone got disconnected because I hadnt paid my bill... which is being rectified by B-pay as I am briefly online. I honestly didnt think that going off the grid would cause so much argy-bargy, and Ive got a lot of PMs and about 200 notifications which Ill probably get to over the next few days. Regarding the next few days, I probably wont be making it to the next bible study Brett Taylor, Katie Kay, Julia McDonald, or to the State of Origin on Wednesday James Turton, Tim McAlpin. I will be at work next Saturday though, and have quite a bit of work to catch up on as well... Again, thanks for the concern, and it was kind of a spinout to see Sam Woo, Emma Nichols and Stephen Jurd at the door, especially when they are all from different social circles. Also a special mention to Kurt Williams who seems to have liaised with a few people to find out where Im at. Also Peter Pebbles Štoneeter who raised the alert for what appeared to be out-of-character behaviour. I feel loved! Anyway, back to bed...
