Hey everyone! My cousin is an undergrad here at UK and she has trained several service dogs with the student organization, Four Paws for Humanity. The most recent dog she trained, Paris, is a seizure alert dog, meaning she can smell the chemical abnormality in a child before the child has a seizure and alerts the family. Paris is now helping an amazing boy named Austin who lives out in Boston. Unfortunately, Austins school will not allow the his 1:1 aide to handle Paris. It is crucial to have Paris with Austin during the day in order to alert someone that he will soon have another seizure.
