Hey everyone! Pratt Diversity Initiatives Group - DIG will be holding a cultural competency workshop on Saturday, January 17th, 10AM at Higgins Hall. Pratt PSPD alum, Danny Lim, will lead this workshop with a series of activities and exercises to understand how planners can address power, privilege and oppression when developing progressive urban policies and programs. The Working with Difference workshop is a mandatory training for incoming PSPD students. As urban planning and sustainability professionals who work with diverse communities, PSPD graduates will come face to face with issues of power, privilege and oppression in their daily work. The training will equip emerging professionals with the conceptual framework necessary to address all forms of discrimination, including and going beyond racism, and to hold nuanced and intimate, rather than superficial, conversations about justice and equity. The workshop is open to all. Further details to come, but save the date and time!
